After explaining the technicalities of measuring heart rate, Samsung talks about why it chose to implement a heart rate monitor instead of something else. “Heart rate is one of the most frequently measured pieces of bio-information. Moreover, heart rate can provide useful information, such as your state of health before, during, or after a workout,” says Samsung, and since our smartphones (and wearable devices) are always with us, the company apparently find it reason enough to put in a dedicated sensor for heart rate measurement.
There's also a lot of talk about the S Health app, which acts as the source of all the health-related features that can be found on Samsung devices, and you can check it all out at the source link.
