Latin American Spanish support for Bixby is now available for a handful of Galaxy smartphones, although the official announcement is somewhat confusing. The company mentions that the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 lineups, and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, are getting Latin American Spanish Bixby support today.
Then again, Samsung also claims that more devices will support Latin American Spanish for Bixby in December, including the Galaxy Z Flip 3 (with no mention of the Galaxy Z Fold 3), the Galaxy S20, and the Galaxy S21. So it's not entirely clear if Galaxy S21 users can use Bixby in Latin American Spanish from today or starting in December. If you can confirm one of the two options, feel free to let us know in the comment section.
Up until now, Brazilian Portuguese was the only Latin American language supported by Bixby. And although the AI-based voice assistant already offers support for European Spanish, this new update will allow Latin American Spanish speakers to interact more naturally with Bixby using local dialects and accents.
According to Samsung, as of October 2022, there are more than 200 million people using Bixby across nearly 400 million devices worldwide. Devices include mobile devices, home appliances, and smart TVs.
Recently, Bixby also gained more Smart Home features, allowing users to have better voice control over smart home devices.
